Laparoscopic appendectomy is an effective, safe procedure for the treatment of patients with acute appendicitis. Studies have demonstrated the diagnostic and therapeutic advantages of the method and its positive impact on laparoscopic training. However, the procedure has not been widely accepted in Denmark. This paper describes the technical and educational aspects of laparoscopic appendectomy and provides practical information on the implementation of the procedure in daily practice.
