Abstract

To investigate the chemical constituents of Pistia stratiotes, a kind of duckweed.Compounds were separated by chromatography on sillica gel, and their structures were identified by spectral analysis and chemical evidence.Four compounds were obtained and identified as stigmasta-4,22-dien-3-one, stigmasterol, stigmasteryl stearate and palmitic acid.All the four compounds were isolated from this plant for the first time.
