Bolu-Demirciler plan ünitesinin karbon depolama kapasitesinin zamansal değişimi

Abstract

As a result of the industrial revolution, the use of fossil fuels as an energy source in the industry, vehicles and heating has gained momentum. Depending on the growing population, greenhouse gases and especially CO2 increases in the result of destruction of forest areas by land use change have been identified. Forest ecosystems play an important role as carbon pools in combating artificial global climate change. Increasing the amount of biomass and carbon stored in our forests is among the criteria of sustainable forest management. In addition to determining the amount of carbon stored in our existing forest areas, it is also important to determine the temporal changes. In this context, the amount of carbon stocks in the planning period of 1986-95 and 2009-2018 Plan was calculated in Bolu -Demirler plan unit selected as the study area. As a calculation method, the Biomass Expansion Factors (BEF) method is used. As a result of the calculations made, an increase in the amount of carbon stored on coniferous stands was found to be 30.25 tons / ha and on broad leaf stands was found to be 14.61 tons / ha. In addition, a decrease of 17 tons / ha was detected in mixed stands. When the area changes are examined; the mixed stands increased by 1515.8 ha, while , mixed stads are younger (2009-2018 Plan), explaining the decrease in the amount of carbon stored.
