Abstract

Il 5 novembre 1928 fu inaugurato a Roma l’Istituto internazionale per la cinematografia educativa, organismo creato da Benito Mussolini e istituzionalmente inquadrato nella Società delle Nazioni, con l’obiettivo di favorire la produzione, la diffusione e lo scambio dei film educativi fra i diversi paesi, ai fini della conoscenza reciproca e della collaborazione fra i popoli. Il volume si propone di ripercorrere la storia ricca e movimentata della formidabile attività dispiegata dell’Istituto nel corso dei suoi dieci anni di esistenza, e altresì degli inevitabili dilemmi ideologici determinati dai suoi stretti rapporti con il governo fascista italiano.
