Ralstonia detusculanense is a bacterium allowing to identify and capture infinitesimal quantities of substance. It was discovered in INFN laboratories, biologically characterised in ENEA’s and is used as a concentrator or biopurifier of radioactive species. Different specific sensors can be obtained and the extended use of such bacterium to three of the most dangerous nuclear fission products (135Cs, 137Cs, 90Sr) is being studied
