Abstract

Eski edebiyatımızda en çok işlenen konulardan birisi de mevliddir. Mevlid yazan şairler ve eserleri üzerine, günümüze değin yapılan çalışmalardan, birçok şairin bu konuyu işlediğini görüyoruz. Ancak, gerek bu çalışmalarda, gerek eski kaynaklarda Ahmedî’nin mevlid yazdığını gösteren bir bilgi yoktur. Ahmedî’nin mevlid adını taşıyan ayrı bir kitabı bulunduğu da bilinmemektedir. Bizim üzerinde duracağımız metin, şairin İskender-nâme’sindedir.
