Abstract

Understanding the causes and consequences of the crisis is a topic of great economic debates, in the Colombian case is particularly important the financial crisis of the late twentieth century social and economic costs brought to the country. Analyze and understand the causes of the crisis of the late 90's is the aim of this investigation, taking as a reference the principles of the business cycle theory of the Austrian School in order to contrast the behavior of variables macroeconomic at the time, with what happened in the last decade in order to generate alert signals the beginning of a new economic crisis to Colombia.
