Caracterización de suelos arcillosos desecados al occidente de la Sabana de Bogotá

Abstract

La zona ubicada al occidente de la sabana de Bogotá, posee características que alteran en gran medida el comportamiento de los suelos superficiales que la conforman. Dentro de estas características es necesario resaltar las siguientes: • Vegetación foránea: árboles que no pertenecen a la zona y que tienen un alto consumo de agua, lo que hace que el nivel freático disminuya rápidamente, como se describe en el plan de manejo ambiental de agua subterránea del Occidente de la Sabana de Bogotá.1 • Viveros: aunque puede caber en la característica anterior, se puede separar el efecto que tienen los viveros en la zona, ya que las flores demandan cantidades de agua muy altas y con ello se puede observar que las afectaciones más grandes se presentan en tramos donde hay este tipo de cultivos.2 • Microclimas: Son temperaturas que tiene el ambiente en diferentes horas del día y su efecto hace que la succión matricial aumente y se presente perdida de humedad en el terreno y de esta manera disminución en el nivel freático.
