Abstract

In the 1990s Ilya Prigogine published the disruptive book titled “The End of Certainties.” Text in which it is stated that: The current developments of the so-called complexity sciences show us a world of orders emerging from chaotic situations, where what is predictable becomes very difficult, where the search for the simple is no longer the goal of knowledge, where nature stops to be that automaton regulated by simple laws that mechanics proposed to us, where, thanks to the consideration of the complex and the chaotic as central phenomena of reality, nature can be considered as a source of novelties, rather than automatic repetitions. From this perspective, the social and human sciences assume the responsibility of transforming themselves in response to emerging dynamics with the purpose of consolidating an interdisciplinary and comprehensive way to understand the new project of humanity.
