In this work, strategies will be formulated to strengthen the competitiveness of micro-enterprises engaged in footwear production in the Restrepo neighborhood of Bogotá. This entails assessing the competitive context, characterizing their resources and capabilities, and evaluating the competitiveness of the industrial sector. The work comprises three chapters. In the first one, the problem that initiates the research is introduced, the objectives to be pursued are outlined, background information is provided, and the reasons behind conducting the study are presented. The second chapter addresses theoretical, conceptual, and legal aspects, as well as hypothesis formulation and the methodological framework. The final chapter delves into the development of each defined objective. Lastly, the central conclusions and recommendations resulting from the various phases undertaken in the preceding chapters are presented. As a central conclusion, it is worth noting that the footwear sector in Colombia holds substantial potential but also faces challenges that need to be addressed to enable local entrepreneurs, especially small-scale micro-entrepreneurs in the Restrepo neighborhood, to compete in an increasingly competitive global market. With appropriate investments, innovation, and governmental support, it is possible to seize growth opportunities and strengthen the presence of the Colombian footwear industry both nationally and internationally.
