Abstract

The provision of decent housing by the state should not be limited to the incentive of the tenure but also to improve its components. From the Multidimensional Poverty approach, housing is disaggregated into the following dimensions: access to potable water, sewerage and excreta disposal system, floors, walls and overcrowding. Based on a retrospective longitudinal quantitative research methodology based on the review of secondary sources, and reflected in a logit model created with cross-sectional data, it is shown that, in Bogotá the deprivations that most affects the person’s probability to be poor are those related to water and sewerage.
