Diseño y construcción de túneles de ladera: Colombia

Abstract

Currently in the Colombian Andes, by design, there are being built dozens of short and long road tunnels. Most of these tunnels are short and shallow in areas with poor geotechnical and hydrogeological conditions such as weak rocks, weathered rock and colluvium deposits. There are under anisotropic stress field affected by the topographic features, the excavation cross-section, high water table and high seismic activity. In some cases, such conditions are not considered or evaluated in detail in the initial design leading to great difficulties in the construction process of these. This study proposes a method of analysis to determine the behavior of the soil during the construction process, in shallow tunnels under these stress conditions. This will be done through a review of existing methodologies and their application.
