Esta investigación tiene como objetivo averiguar cómo los expertos en psicología forense comprenden el fenómeno de la deseabilidad social y las implicaciones que dicho fenómeno tiene en la praxis profesional, a través de un análisis interpretativo fenomenológico y análisis del discurso que busca identificar estrategias de evaluación y mitigación del impacto de la deseabilidad social en la validez de los resultados de la evaluación psicológica forense. Se analizaron entrevistas individuales a diez expertos en el área. Los hallazgos fueron contrastados con literatura científica para identificar similitudes y diferencias. Se identificaron instrumentos de evaluación de deseabilidad social, sin embargo, los expertos consultados refirieron no utilizarlos en su práctica habitual; por el contrario, presentaron otras estrategias de evaluación como la triangulación de información, las escalas de validez de las pruebas de personalidad, el conocimiento de los perfiles victimológicos y criminológicos, y el uso de técnicas de entrevistas; sobre las técnicas de mitigación, se identifican el establecimiento de rapport, la confrontación y la administración estratégica de instrumentos. La evaluación del constructo personalidad se considera afín con la evaluación del fenómeno de la deseabilidad social. Se discute sobre variables edad y género, las cuales se consideran no determinantes. Se concluye la necesidad de realizar un proceso integral de evaluación y contraste de información y no circunscribirlo al uso de un instrumento o una escala.
This research aims to find out how forensic psychology experts understand the phenomenon of social desirability and the implications that this phenomenon has had their professional practice, through a phenomenological interpretive and discourse analysis that seeks to identify assessment strategies of the impact of social desirability and how to lessen that phenomenon on the results of expert psychological evaluations. There were conducted individual interviews over ten field experts. The findings were contrasted with scientific literature to identify similarities and differences. There were identified instruments for evaluating social desirability, however, the experts consulted reported not using that kind of tools on their usual practice; on the contrary, he presented other evaluation strategies such as triangulation of information, validity scales of personality tests, knowledge of victimology and criminological profiles, and the use of interview techniques. As regard to mitigation techniques, rapport’s establishment, confrontation and strategic administration of instruments are identified. the phenomenon of social desirability has been considered. The evaluation of the personality construct is considered connected to the evaluation. There were discussed age and gender variables, which are considered non-determining. To conclude it is needed to carry out a comprehensive process of evaluation and contrast of information and not to be limited to one instrument or a scale.
