Abstract

This document synthesizes different researches at an international level where it is shown that the implementation of the GCR in the pavements is an alternative to solve problems of structural type in the pavements and to mitigate environmental impacts generated by the mismanagement of the disused tires. The addition of GCR for the modification of asphalt mixtures results in a great number of benefits, due to the research that has advanced in the last years, identifying that this type of modifications are more durable with respect to conventional, long term Term because it reduces the maintenance and increases its durability and mainly contribute to the reduction of negative impacts for the environment as they are, the indiscriminate burning of discarded tires giving way to CO2 emissions, one of the most polluting toxic gases Of the world causing global warming. Based on a bibliographical review, this paper summarizes the technical, economic and environmental advantages and disadvantages of using recycled rubber grain to improve asphalt mixtures.
