Abstract

En este trabajo de investigación se buscaron patógenos, naturalmente presentes en el suelo, con potencial para el control biológico de la polilla guatemalteca de la papa Tecia solanivora. Se usó el método de colecta de patógenos desarrollado por Bedding con larvas de la polilla de la cera Galleria mellonela y muestras de suelo provenientes de sistemas agrícolas de Cundinamarca. Para el aislamiento de hongos se usaron cámaras húmedas para inducir la esporulación y medio PDA para sembrarlos. No se trabajó con virus ni con bacterias por la complejidad en cuanto a búsqueda y manejo. Con los patógenos (nematodos y hongos) se hizo una primera evaluación de patogenicidad usando larvas de G. mellonela. Las cepas que mostraron mortalidades superiores al 80% fueron evaluadas en un ensayo de patogenicidad sobre la polilla de la papa Tecia solanivora. Se logró determinar las condiciones (de humedad, temperatura y material de recipientes), adecuadas para el montaje y evaluación de cepas de patógenos en bioensayos con Galleria mellonela y de Tecia solanivora. Las cepas V (USTATENJO I-15) y VII (USTABOYACA II-15) mostraron una alta mortalidad en larvas de Galleria mellonela y de Tecia solanivora siendo promisorias para el desarrollo de investigaciones posteriores que lleven al desarrollo de bioplaguicidas.
