Abstract

En el presente estudio, se reemplazó parte del agregado pétreo natural (fracción gruesa) por escorias de alto horno (BFS – Blast Furnace Slag, provenientes de Acerías Paz del Rio). Esto, intentando producir una mezcla asfáltica aún más amigable con el medio ambiente. Se empleó como granulometría de referencia, la de una mezcla de concreto asfáltico tipo MDC-19. El presente estudio corresponde a fase continua a otros estudios, en el cual se midió la resistencia bajo carga monotónica, y la composición volumétrica de la mezcla tibia fabricada a partir del reemplazo parcial de las fracciones gruesas del agregado pétreo natural por escoria de alto horno. Para el caso de la sustitución de la fracción gruesa del agregado natural por BFS, se llevó a cabo la sustitución del agregado por escoria de alto horno en los tamices de la fracción gruesa (1/2”, 3/8” y No. 4). Como resumen se tiene que en este estudio se realizó la evaluación de la respuesta que experimentaron las mezclas al ser sometidas a cargas monotónicas y al daño por humedad al ser modificadas con escoria de alto horno estabilizada y sin estabilizar, y bajo el empleo del aditivo.

In the present study, part of the natural aggregate (coarse fraction) was replaced by blast furnace slag (BFS). This, trying to produce an asphalt mixture even more friendly to the environment. It was used as reference granulometry, that of a mix of asphalt concrete type MDC-19. The present study corresponds to continuous phase to other studies, in which resistance was measured under monotonic load, and the volumetric composition of the warm mixture manufactured from the partial replacement of the coarse fractions of the natural aggregate by blast furnace slag. In the case of the replacement of the coarse fraction of the natural aggregate by BFS, the substitution of the aggregate by blast furnace slag was carried out in the coarse fraction screens (1/2 ", 3/8" and No. 4). ). As a summary it is necessary to evaluate the response of the mixtures when subjected to monotonic loads and moisture damage when modified with stabilized and unstabilized blast furnace slag, and under the use of the additive.
