Baraj dolgu malzemesi iyileştirmesinde uçucu kül ve mermer tozu kullanımı

Abstract

In recent years, there has been a great increase in the amount of waste due to the increase in industrial production. These increases cause environmental problems along with the storage problem of wastes. It is especially important from an environmental point of view that wastes are used for various purposes and brought into the economy. In this study, the effects of fly ash and marble dust, which are industrial wastes, on the geotechnical properties of the soil were investigated. For this purpose, samples were prepared by adding different proportions of marble dust and fly ash to the material taken from the quarries. Compaction test, unconfined pressure test and permeability test were performed on the prepared samples. Different curing times were applied to the samples prepared for the unconfined pressure test, and the time-dependent variation of the strength of the samples was observed. According to the results obtained, it was observed that the additive of fly ash and marble dust increased the soil strength. The highest strength increases were observed in samples with a mixture of 15%MT+15%UK-15%MT+30%UK for Uluköy sample, and samples with a mixture of 10%MT+20%UK-15%MT+30%UK for Ballık sample. While the permeability coefficient decreased in the Ballık sample, no significant change was observed in the Uluköy sample. The increase in strength and decrease in permeability with waste additives are positive results for the material to be used in the dam filling. However, it must also meet other criteria required for fillings.
