Babadağ and Sarayköy in the west in placed on the Çürüksu Valley. Many civilizations beginning from the early periods had accomoduted on this valley. Loodikya is the first land of Today's Denizli. Loodikya had enposed to Turk attack beginning İh from 1070 s and it had been a Turkish land in 14 century. In this process city of Loodikya had completely abandoned and had been settled in today's Denizli. Denizli which had been a small town of the Ottoman Empire until the republican Period, it had been constructed as a central province with the declaration of Republic in 1923. Denizli which had struggled to remove it's old social order, had accomplished it by progress in education, health, culture and economics and had taken place among the modern and big cities of Turkey. Economical and cultural development had mode Denizli attractive and the city had been a migraticentre the phurical stkructure of the city had been effucted negatively by this sudden migraten. Beside this, its social-cultural structure had been effected. Local administrations had taken measures beginning from the early periods of Republic, against the negative development of Physical structure and they had worked to modernize the city. Being on a productive meadow and on a strategial trmsit road and also the initiative approach of the people, had leaded to an economical burst in Denizli, so the city had tuken a plave amory the Endustrial cities of Turkey.

Çürüksu Vadisi tarihin ilk devirlerinden itibaren pek çok medeniyete beşiklik etmiştir. Bu medeniyetlerden Laodikya bugünkü Denizli şehrinin ilk yerleşim yeridir. Laodikya 1070'li yıllardan itibaren Türklerin saldırılarına maruz kalmış ve yöre 14.yy.'dan itibaren bir Türk yurdu haline gelmiştir. Bu süreç içerisinde de Laodikya şehri tamamen terk edilmiş ve bugünkü Denizli şehrine yerleşilmiştir. Cumhuriyetin ilk yıllarına küçük bir Osmanlı kasabası olarak gelen Denizli, 1923'te il merkezi haline getirilmiştir. Cumhuriyetle birlikte kasaba görüntüsünden kurtulmaya çalışan Denizli; eğitim, sağlık, kültür, ekonomik alanlarda yaptığı atılımlarla kabuğunu kırmış ve Türkiye'nin büyük ve modern şehirleri arasına girmiştir. Ekonomik ve kültürel gelişme Denizli'yi bir cazibe merkezi haline getirmiş ve şehir hızlı bir göç almıştır. Şehrin fiziksel yapısının olumsuz gelişmesine etki ettiği gibi şehrin sosyo-kültürel yapısını da etkilemiştir. Fiziksel yapının yanlış gelişimine karşın yerel yönetimler cumhuriyetin ilk yıllarından itibaren tedbir almışlar, şehri modern bir görüntüye kavuşturmak için çalışmışlardır.X Denizli'nin gerek verimli bir ova üzerinde kurulması, gerek geçit yolları üzerinde olması, gerekse de yöre insanının girişimciliği sonucu ekonomik bir patlama yaşanmış ve şehir Türkiye'nin önemli sanayi şehirleri arasına girmiştir.
