Abstract

Mardin is in the east of the South East anatolia. There hasn?t been made enoughdetailed scientific research in the field of education about the city. This situation causes lackof sources for further researches. In the research, in 2005-2006 education and teaching yearthe education activities has been tried to be explained considering scientific principles suchas causality, cause-result and the dispersion principles. The research in which educationdevelopment of Mardin has been studied, the general historical situation of education ofcountry has been observed. When the Mardin?s education construction being examined it isbeing put account from printed work, statistics and high school statistics of higher educationhas been provided from medicial high school and Mardin ındustrial high school. In the resultof work that is made, it is being datermined that the education in Mardin hasn?t beendeveloped as wished level. The 8 years compulsory education, has increased the demand tothe primary education but there is an important decrease has been determined about thenumbers of student in the transition of high school. Especially the decrease in the distributionof gender been caused important problems; topographical construction of research field andexcessive number and the disorganized construction of rural settlement affects the primaryeducation and high education negatively

Mardin, Güneydogu Anadolu Bölgesi'nin dogusunda yer almaktadır. Sehir ile ilgiliolarak, egitim alanında detaylı bilimsel arastırmalar yeterince yapılmamıstır. Bununsonucunda da arastırmalarda kaynak sıkıntısı çekilmektedir. Bu çalısmada 2005?2006 egitimögretimyılında Mardin ilindeki egitim faaliyetleri nedensellik, sebep-sonuç, dagılım gibibilimsel ilkeler dikkate alınarak açıklanmaya çalısılmıstır. Mardin ilinde egitimin gelisimininincelendigi bu arastırmada, egitim faaliyetlerinin ülke genelinde tarihi gelisimi genel olarakele alınmıstır. Mardin'in egitim yapısı incelenirken basılı eserler, istatistikî veriler ve yerindeyapılan gözlemlerden yararlanılmıstır. 2005?2006 egitim-ögretim yılı ilk ve ortaögretim bilgive istatistikleri l Milli Egitim Müdürlügünden; yüksekögretim bilgi ve istatistikleri iseMardin Meslek Yüksekokulundan temin edilmistir. Yapılan çalısma sonucunda Mardin'deegitimin istenilen ölçüde gelismedigi belirlenmistir. 8 yıllık zorunlu egitim uygulaması nedeniile ilkögretime talebin fazla oldugu görülmektedir. Ancak ortaögretime geçislerde ögrencisayısında önemli düsüsler oldugu belirlenmistir. Özellikle cinsiyet dagılımında ortaya çıkanbu düsüs egitimde önemli sıkıntılar çıkarmaktadır. Arastırma sahasının topografik yapısı vekırsal yerlesmelerin fazla sayıda ve dagınık olması da ilk ve ortaögretimi olumsuzetkilemektedir.
