Okul yöneticilerinin etik liderlik davranışları

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the ethical leadership of school administrators. In this research, the population consists of nursery classes being subject to Afyonkarahisar Provincial Directorate for National Education and 120 preschool teachers working at independent nursery schools and 80 administrators working at those schools. The research has been carried out by sampling out of this population. The 'Ethical Leadership Scale', practised by Turhan (2007) has been used in this research.Frequencies, percentages, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, the Mann Whitney-U test and Kruskal Wallis test have been used in the analyses of data. According to the results of the research, teachers who participate in this study think that the school administrators perform the ethical leadership behaviour in high levels. It has also been specified that the perceptions of performing the ethical leadership behaviour do not differ according to the sex, educational status and marital status of the school administrators. It has been inferred that the administrators at the age of 46 and over perform the ethical leadership behaviour about social responsibilities better than the administrators at the age of 26 or 35. It has been confirmed that the perceptions of teachers about the ethical leadership behaviour of administrators do not differ according to the schools they are working at, those working at the independent government schools have the perception that school administrators perform the ethical leadership behaviours much more than the other teachers.Key Words: Ethical Leadership, Preschool Teacher, School Administrators

Bu araştırmanın amacı; okul yöneticilerinin etik liderlik davranışlarını belirlemektir. Araştırmada evreni Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı Afyonkarahisar İl Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğü'ne bağlı ilköğretim bünyesindeki anasınıfları ve bağımsız anaokullarında çalışan 120 okul öncesi öğretmeni ve bu okullarda yöneticilik yapan 80 okul yöneticisi oluşturmaktadır.Bu evrenden uygun örneklem seçimi kullanılarak araştırma gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmada Turhan (2007) tarafından geliştirilen `Etik Liderlik Ölçeği` kullanılmıştır.Verilerin analizinde frekans ve yüzdeler, aritmetik ortalama, standart sapma, Parametrik olmayan testlerden Mann Whitney-U testi, Kruskal Wallis testikullanılmıştır.Araştırma sonucunda; araştırmaya katılan öğretmenlere göre okul yöneticilerinin yüksek düzeyde etik liderlik rollerini yerine getirdikleri;okul yöneticilerinin ise cinsiyetlerine, eğitim durumlarına ve medeni durumlarına göre etik liderlik rollerini yerine getirebilmelerine ilişkin algılarının farklılaşmadığı belirlenmiştir.46 yaş ve üzerindeki yöneticilerin, 26- 35 yaş arası yöneticilere göre sosyal sorumluluğa dair etik liderlik rollerini daha iyi yerine getirdikleri sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Öğretmenlerin yöneticilerine ilişkin etik liderlik algılarının, çalıştıkları okul türü dışında kalan demografik özelliklerine göre farklılaşmadığı, bağımsız resmi anaokullarında görev yapan öğretmenlerin de okul yöneticilerinin etik liderlik rollerini, diğer öğretmenlere göre daha yüksek düzeyde yerine getirdikleri algısına sahip oldukları tespit edilmiştir.Anahtar Kelimeler:Etik Liderlik, Okul Öncesi Öğretmeni, Okul Yöneticisi.
