Descartes'ın zihin teorisi ve çağdaş zihin felsefesindeki eleştirileri

Abstract

This study focuses on theories related to Contemporary Philosophy of Mind, criticism of Descartes and the theory of mind of Descartes. The main problem of Descartes' theory of mind is related to the interaction between the body, which is objector, and the mind, which has no objectivity. Descartes argued that there was an interaction between these two structurally disparates and tried to explain the interaction between the two the uses. In this study, the criticisms of Descartes by mind theorists who argued that the bilateral understanding of the word, which is structurally different from each other, caused major problems were discussed. For this purpose, Descartes philosophy or theory of mind was first examined and tried to be explained in general terms. In the second chapter, theories such as Materialism, Functionalism and Behavioralism in contemporary philosophy were discussed; the theories discussed were explained in detail and the thoughts that were put forward about the mind were discussed. In the third chapter, the foundations on which the criticisms of contemporary mind philosophers against Descartes are based are investigated. Although it was determined that the focus of criticism was made on the mind-body relationship, contemporary mind theorists emphasized some of the consequences of accepting the mind as a word. The problems of accepting the mind as a word are discussed according to the emphasis made by the theorists of the mind. In the conclusion section, it will be discussed whether what is said about the mind is sufficient and whether a new mind can be brought in in line with what is discussed.
