Abstract

The automotive industry is regarded as the locomotive sector in the countries' economies due to its close relationship with more than one industry. At our study, birth of automotive industry, developments in automotive industry in the world, the historical development of the automotive industry in Turkey, export, import and employment values are emphasized, national income and the concepts related to national income are defined and and the relationship between national income and the automotive industry is umderlined.The aim of this study is to observe the effect of the increase in national income, which is one of the important issues in the growth of the automotive industry, by determining the rate of national income increase and automotive production data, which are proportional to the national income to ecomomy. The rate of economic growth affects the growth of the industry, its technological efficiency, in the same way the development of the automotive industry affects economic growth. In this context, the analysis done at study is aim to examine the interrelation between national income increase rate and growth of automotive industry.In this study on Turkey, national income increase rate data is taken by TUİK, automotive industry data is collected from TCMB Elektronik Veri Dağıtım Sistemi (EVDS) and Otomotiv Sanayi Derneği (OSD) bulletin. Otomotiv sektörü, birden fazla sanayi kolu ile yakın ilişkisi sebebiyle ülke ekonomilerinde lokomotif sektör olarak kabul edilmektedir. Çalışmamızda otomotiv sektörünün doğuşu, dünyada otomotiv sektöründe yaşanan gelişmeler, Türkiye'de otomotiv sektörünün tarihsel gelişimi, ihracat, ithalat ve istihdam değerlerinin üzerinde durulmuş, milli gelir ve milli gelir ile ilgili kavramlarını tanımı yapılmış ve milli gelirin otomotiv sektörü ile ilişkisi üzerinde durulmuştur. Bu çalışmanın amacı, milli gelir artışının otomotiv sektörünün büyümesindeki önemli konulardan biri olduğunu, sektördeki gelişmelerin milli gelirle doğru orantılı olduğunu, milli gelir artış hızı ve otomotiv üretim verilerinin belirlenerek, ekonomiye olan etkisini gözlemlemektir. Ekonomik büyüme oranı sektörün büyümesini, teknolojik verimliliğini etkilemekte aynı şekilde otomotiv sektörünün gelişmesi ekonomik büyümeyi etkilemektedir. Bu çerçevede çalışmada yapılan analizde milli gelir artış hızı ile otomotiv sektörünün büyümesi arasında karşılıklı ilişki olduğunu inceleme amacı güdülmektedir. Türkiye üzerine yapılan bu çalışmada milli gelir artış hızı verileri TUİK üzerinden, otomotiv sektörüne ait veriler TCMB Elektronik Veri Dağıtım Sistemi (EVDS) ve Otomotiv Sanayi Derneği (OSD) bültenlerinden derlenmiş olup analizler E-views 8 programı ile yapılmıştır.ANAHTAR SÖZCÜKLER: Milli Gelir, Otomotiv Sektörü, Büyüme
