Farklı lokasyonlarda yetiştirilen mısır genotiplerinin tane verimi ve kalitesinin belirlenmesi

Abstract

This study was conducted at two different locations (Adnan Menderes University Agriculture Faculty Research Farm in Koçarlı/Aydın and İzmir/Bayındır district in Küçük Menderes plain) during the corn growing period in 2014. The research is based on a randomized experimental block design and six corn varieties such as SY Competo, Kalipso, PR31D24, P3167, DKC 6876 and Colonia were used in the two locations. Same agriculture and cultural practices are applied to the experiment in both locations. The aim of the study was to determine some yield components, quality characteristics and the content of amino acids from corn varieties which are commonly grown in Aegean region of Turkey. In order to identify yield and quality potentials of corn varieties grain yield, 1000-grain weight, cob length, number of grains per cob, protein content, starch content and amino acid content parameters are measured. As a result of investigations of corn varieties on two locations grain yield ranged from 975.7 to 1477.2 kg/da, 1000 grain weight from 345.3 to 433.5 g, cob length from 18.9 to 24.7 cm, number of grains per cob from 463 to 724, kernel protein ratio from 6.9 to 7.8%, starch ratio from 62.6 to 63.9%. Regarding the grain yield the variety DKC 6876 brought the highest yield. In protein and starch contents no differences were observed between the varieties and locations. Overall, in the framework of essential, semi-essential and non-essential aminoacids 17 different amino acids and their contents were determined. Based on the results it was found that the corn grains generally showed low amino acid contents. In particular, the amino acids lysine and methionine were very low and tryptophan another important amino acid could not be determined by the analysis. Keywords: Corn, Yield, Location, Protein, Amino Acid Content
