Abstract

Recensione di Volume in ABITARE Web. "First Things First. Comunicare le emergenze". (2019). Piscitelli, D. Barcellona: ListLab. (pp.160). Omaggiando il titolo del manifesto internazionale redatto nel 1964 da Ken Garland e che significa letteralmente “Prima le priorità”, First Things First riesamina il concetto di “emergenza”, definendo tale condizione come una caratteristica permanente e implicita alla società contemporanea. In questa visione, la progettazione grafica assume valenza politica, educando ad una sorta di “cittadinanza terrestre”, attraverso la sensibilizzazione di una coscienza collettiva e l’individuazione sia di criticità consolidate che di emergenze embrionali. Mettendo in luce fragilità inesplorate, l’approccio speculativo del volume interpreta il progettista come un vettore strategico per processi dialogici. L’obiettivo è quello di aprire questioni, e capire quale potrebbe essere il ruolo che il design sarà chiamato a svolgere nell’immediato futuro, agendo nella prospettiva di un cambiamento, possibilmente rivoluzionario.
