Abstract

Ce contribution présente une expérimentation de géographie sociale menée dans l’espace public de la place Vittorio à Rome, fondée sur des pratiques participatives et performatives. À travers le dispositif de la « Porte magique », les passants sont invités à prendre part à des activités créatives qui stimulent l’imagination et l’interaction. Le recours à des outils expressifs tels que le dessin et la narration permet de recueillir des représentations subjectives des lieux, mettant en évidence les dimensions émotionnelles et symboliques de l’espace urbain. L’approche s’inscrit dans la cartographie sensible et propose des modalités innovantes de recherche capables de saisir l’expérience vécue et la perception de l’espace.

Il contributo presenta una sperimentazione di geografia sociale nello spazio pubblico di Piazza Vittorio a Roma, basata su pratiche performative e partecipative. Attraverso il dispositivo della “Porta Magica”, i passanti sono coinvolti in attività creative che stimolano immaginazione e interazione. L’uso di strumenti espressivi come disegni e narrazioni consente di raccogliere rappresentazioni soggettive dei luoghi, mettendo in evidenza dimensioni emotive e simboliche dello spazio urbano. L’approccio si inserisce nella cartografia sensibile e propone modalità innovative di ricerca capaci di cogliere l’esperienza vissuta e la percezione dello spazio.

This contribution presents an experimental social geography project carried out in the public space of Piazza Vittorio in Rome, based on participatory and performative practices. Through the “Magic Door” device, passersby are involved in creative activities that stimulate imagination and interaction. The use of expressive tools such as drawings and narratives makes it possible to collect subjective representations of places, highlighting emotional and symbolic dimensions of urban space. The approach is rooted in sensitive mapping and proposes innovative research methods capable of capturing lived experience and spatial perception.
