Les "nouvelles" de Luchino Visconti

Abstract

Visconti non è soltanto il regista dei grandi affreschi romanzeschi. Nell’arco di quasi quindici anni, dal 1953 al 1967, sperimenta la forma breve del racconto partecipando a tre film collettivi con Anna Magnani (ep. di Siamo donne, 1953), Il lavoro (ep. di Boccaccio ’70, 1962), e La strega bruciata viva (ep. di Le streghe, 1967). Questi mediometraggi hanno molti elementi in comune: riflettono sul divismo o su forme analoghe di prestazione d’opera, attribuendo una centralità alla figura femminile; sono in buona parte riflessioni sulla società dello spettacolo attuale o dell’immediato passato (nel caso di Anna Magnani); assumono un esplicito intento dimostrativo, legando la forma della novella a quella dell’apologo e della satira; fanno ricorso a un registro “leggero” basato sullo scherzo e sul gioco intertestuale e autoriflessivo, in cui Visconti coinvolge la sua stessa arte e il suo stesso mondo socio-culturale. In definitiva con questi brevi racconti l’autore traccia il passaggio da un’epoca a un’altra, dall’etica del dopoguerra alla distruzione dei valori prodotta dal boom economico e dalla modernizzazione.
