Abstract

Il volume prende in esame il ruolo della dimensione empirica nell’ambito della ricerca educativa allo scopo di accompagnare i giovani studiosi verso l’impegno di ricerca in campo educativo e orientare gli insegnanti nell’affrontare le operazioni di problematizzazione degli ostacoli che possono impedire nella didattica quotidiana l’apprendimento insegnato, adattando ai vincoli del contesto le teorie, le procedure, gli strumenti più adeguati allo scopo. Vengono presentati i principali modelli metodologici per l’assunzione, l’elaborazione e l’interpretazione dei dati empirici significativi in ambito educativo-formativo, accanto a riflessioni epistemologiche volte a far comprendere la complessità dei problemi che occorre affrontare quando un sapere vuole accreditarsi come scientifico. Vengono forniti lineamenti teorici e metodologici utili per il viraggio dalla dimensione qualitativa alla dimensione quantitativa, e viceversa, delle variabili rilevanti in ambito educativo, oltre ad una ricognizione delle principali procedure empirico-sperimentali funzionali per lo studio della motivazione, degli atteggiamenti e dell’elaborazione cognitiva, con attenzione agli effetti sull’apprendimento. Il volume consegna infine al lettore indicazioni sintetiche per la stesura di un rapporto scientifico e si propone anche per il docente, in formazione ed in servizio, come strumento di ricognizione e approfondimento delle metodologie empiriche di ricerca che possono qualificare l’attività educativa.
