Abstract

Nel variegato contesto di pratiche e poetiche del found footage internazionale le proposte del cinema d’artista italiano detengono una specificità storica e di ricerca. Le più consolidate sono sicuramente quella critico-decostruzionista (dalle pioneristiche opere di Loffredo, passando per Baruchello-Grifi, il Gruppo 70 fino a Cane Capovolto) e quella storico-elegiaca (l’esempio dei Gianikian che si apparenta al percorso di cineasti e artisti come Péter Forgás e Jean-Luc Godard). Allo stesso tempo, il lavoro di Paolo Gioli rappresenta un unicum, per assiduità e varietà, della tipologia strutturale del found footage: non a caso apprezzato e rivalutato a livello internazionale soprattutto oggi. L’animazione sperimentale e nuovi artisti come Daniele Puppi dimostrano invece come anche le ultime generazioni sappiano dialogare in maniera creativa e tecnologicamente avanzata con gli archivi. Attraversando forme e generi differenti, il found footage italiano prospetta una nozione d’archivio mobile ed evolutiva, lontana da un’idea consolidata e museografica del materiale di repertorio, dimostrando viceversa un carattere dinamico.
