Semantic search in RealFoodTrade

Abstract

We present RealFoodTrade (RFT), a system that allows farmers\ud and fisher-\ud men to sell their products directly to the end-buyer. RFT mak\ud es use of Linked\ud Data sets, together with a domain ontology designed by expert\ud s, to perform\ud semantic search over products on sale. RFT employs geo-locat\ud ion technology\ud on mobile devices to match demand and supply according to the l\ud ocation.\ud We sketch the semantic search techniques in RFT and illustrat\ud e a prototype\ud tailored to the fishing industry.
