People from Venezuela love peppering their conversations with color, and use to savor them using stable units of language such as saying, proverbial expressions, jokes and “comparancias”. The last one is the key-word of this study, that is, the analysis of certain comparative structures that often appear in the language of Venezuela and recur insistently, giving rise to real paremiological phrase structures.
