L’area archeologica di Faragola: valorizzazione e musealizzazione

Abstract

The paper describes the design process directed to the preservation in situ of the tardonatica villa, situated Faragola, a rural settlement in the valley of the important Carapelle river, near Ascoli Satriano (Fg). The excavations activity of the site were conducted, since 2003, by prof. Giulio Volpe, by the University of Foggia and by the ICR (Istituto Centrale del Restauro). Starting from a conservative intervention, with the methodology of the philological restoration, was added the issue of public use of the structure. All of these activities include restoration through the use of conservative techniques and more original and innovative design like a new archaeological protection, structures for the abatement of architectural barriers and informational support to set up educational use. -
