In this study, CO2 laser – MIG hybrid welding process was investigated for butt welding of Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy sheets, 3.0 mm thickness. The effect of hybrid welding parameters (laser power, arc pulse repetition rate, arc length, arc current, wire feed rate, relative positions of laser and MIG, welding speed) was investigated. The gap bridging ability as also been reported. In the present research microstructure and mechanical properties were studied using optical microscopy, morphological analysis of the cross-sections and mechanical tests (hardness).
