Procida. Insularità e grandi eventi

Abstract

Le piccole isole rappresentano un’area di studio significativa per la geografia sia per la ricchezza e l’integrità dei loro ecosistemi, sia per la complessità del patrimonio culturale legato ad un passato coloniale o derivante dal contatto continuo con diverse popolazioni. Non sono rari i casi in cui esse devono affrontare sfide impegnative nella gestione di un territorio caratterizzato, in genere, da un limitato volume delle attività, da una forte identità culturale e dalla vulnerabilità dell’ambiente naturale. Condizioni, queste, che impongono una gestione mirata e sensibile alle esigenze di sviluppo e salvaguardia. Questo studio analizza il caso di Procida, nominata Capitale Italiana della Cultura nel 2022. Attraverso un approccio metodologico transdisciplinare, che include interviste con residenti e stakeholder, si esamina come sia stato gestito questo grande evento, le opportunità che ha offerto e le criticità che si sono riscontrate. Esplorando il potenziale di Procida come laboratorio di innovazione e sviluppo sostenibile, questa ricerca tende dunque a valutare il programma sviluppato ed individuare delle best practices che possano fungere da riferimento per contesti analoghi dove, anche nella prospettiva di un grande evento, si possano definire programmi in linea con le esigenze di sostenibilità.
