O docente como profissional reflexivo: o papel da biografia e profissional

Abstract

Docentes que ensinam na escola contemporânea são chamados a responder a novas necessidades dos jovens estudantes e a emergências sociais cada vez mais complexas. Muito é exigido da figura profissional docente: solicita-se que acompanhem os estudantes na aprendizagem de conhecimentos disciplinares e na formação de futuros cidadãos. Os docentes necessitam sempre de mais formação universitária e de atualização adequada, precisam ser capazes de organizar uma didática atenta às necessidades de toda turma, sem excluir ninguém. Neste texto questionamos qual é o papel do docente e quais saberes, valores e teorias fundamentam e são requeridos à difícil tarefa de ensinar e educar na escola de hoje. Em um período histórico de grande atenção à Pedagogia da Autobiografia, parece interessante a reflexão sobre a história de vida docente (formativa e profissional) como forma de melhor compreender-se, para favorecer um maior conhecimento sobre seu próprio estilo educativo e de um agir profissional, nem sempre atento, no trabalho cotidiano em sala de aula. O método autobiográfico é um suporte para a reflexão sobre a própria ação docente, e também um auxílio para um possível percurso formativo de leitura de si pelos estudantes que se preparam para se tornarem futuramente professores/as.
