Smartness urbana: il nuovo imperativo della sostenibilità in Europa ed in Italia

Abstract

Le rapide trasformazioni del contesto geopolitico ed economico globale hanno generato modelli urbani innovativi, integrati, inclusivi e fondati sulla gestione strategica della mobilità e delle risorse naturali per il miglioramento della qualità della vita. Le “Città intelligenti”, dunque, sono quelle in cui la competitività e la sostenibilità diventano gli imperativi sostanziali. Questo lavoro parte dall’analisi di alcuni casi di smartness urbana nel contesto europeo dove ogni sforzo è concentrato sul soddisfacimento dei bisogni più “alti”, tipici delle società globali post-consumistiche, come la sostenibilità delle scelte, l’equilibrio e la crescita personale. Nella seconda parte si prende in considerazione il caso italiano, partendo dalle tesi di alcuni studiosi secondo cui nel nostro Paese realizzare il modello della città smart potrebbe significare recuperare quello della città ideale di spirito rinascimentale, valorizzando il territorio urbano già esistente in aree dove la competitività è elevata grazie ad un patrimonio artistico e culturale di grande valore.
