La terzina/quartina caudata nella poesia catalana medievale

Abstract

L'articolo è incentrato sulla genesi e la fortuna di un modulo non strofico della poesia catalana medievale, la terzina/quartina caudata. La forma è costituita da un distico/tristico di ottosillabi a rima baciata chiuso da un quadrisillabo che rima, con collegamento capcaudat, col distico successivo e così via, secondo uno schema del tipo: a8 a8 b4 b8 b8 c4 c8 c8 d4, etc. Recepita dalla poesia gallo-romanza, forse attraverso la mediazione di Andreu Febrer o di un genere autoctono di grande successo come la codolada, tale forma metrica trova impiego nella produzione catalana in otto componimenti: alcuni di questi sono riconducibili al genere del lai non strofico, altri a quello del poema a citazione, mentre il primo esemplare in assoluto, ad opera di Ausiàs March, è un poema dal sapore dottrinale di difficile classificazione.
