121 dogs were given an association of Acetylpromazine maleate and Xylazine Hidrochloride or Medetomidine as premedicant before Thiopentone and Halothane anaesthesia. The review of the anaesthetic records shows that this kind of premedication is ideal for restraint of dogs, reduces the anesthetic requirement of barbiturates and halothane, produces a smooth recovery, without significative complications.
