La materia dell'architettura, l'architettura della materia

Abstract

Il termine “materia”, nel restauro, è stato nel passato affrontato concettualmente da parte di studiosi di rilevanza nell’ambito disciplinare e negli ultimi anni l’aspetto fisico dell’opera appare quasi risolta nella sua complessità in quanto accessibile e, quindi “comprensibile”, attraverso le contemporanee tecniche di indagine che, sempre più pregnanti nel processo metodologico di conoscenza, sembrano esautorare le problematiche a monte dell’intervento sulla materia del restauro. Prefigurando, talvolta, il raggiungimento della certezza scientifica del restauro come intervento tecnico razionale e determinato, se non in alcuni casi univoco. La materia, invece, sede fisica e direttamente manipolata dalla prassi richiede un approfondimento critico che ne sostanzi il significato operando un confronto con le più attuali concezioni estetologiche e del fare architettura. La questione appare in tutta la sua pregnanza se appena si rileva che la stessa realtà dell’architettura inerisce alla possibilità di collegare la sfera sensibile attraverso la sua materia con qualcosa che materiale non è. Il saggio indaga sulle ragioni ‘storiche’ ed attuali della percezione della materia dell’architettura in relazione ai contributi sul nella cultura del restauro e alle possibili proiezioni nel campo della prassi contemporanea.
