Indagini geofisiche non invasive nell’area a giardino della Casa di M. Fabio Rufo

Abstract

Come attività preliminari all’opera di scavo nella Casa di Marco Fabio Rufo (Area Archeologica di Pompei) sono state condotte prospezioni geofisiche nell’area a giardino prospiciente la Casa. L’indagine è stata rivolta all’individuazione di eventuali setti, colonne, ed in particolare di un sistema di vasche di raccolta di acqua, la cui presenza è stata ipotizzata sulla base di quanto rinvenuto in altri giardini di ville romane appartenenti all’area Archeologica di Pompei. Specificamente, sono stati utilizzati tre metodi d’indagine: resistività in corrente continua, potenziale spontaneo ed elettromagnetico. Il risultato del processo di analisi ed interpretazione dei dati acquisiti ha consentito di evidenziare la presenza di possibili strutture murarie, in particolare la prosecuzione di una vasca individuata da un precedente scavo, nonché il limite meridionale dell’insediamento antropico sepolto nell’area a giardino della Casa.
