Cutaneous papillomatosis are common in the horse and in cattle and uncommon in other species. A large number of different papillomaviruses have been identified and each specie may be infected by different genotype. The authors describe the histopathological and electron microscopical findings of cutaneous papillomatosis in water buffaloes (Bubalus bubalis).
