The Association was established in 1972 in the United States as a non-profit world organization. The Association, leaded with high competence and zeal by Professor Oktay Ural, is an interdisciplinary association, interested in the different aspects of the housing sciences: planning, design, building, economical and financial topics, marketing. The attendance of foreign and Italian scientists and of a large audience of engineers, architects and students to the 10 biennial Conferences organized by the Department of Building Engineering, from 1987 to 2005, confirmed the success of the Neapolitan meetings. The Scientific Committee of the XXXIV IAHS World Congress has selected 150 papers, worthy of attention, of scientists coming from all over the world: from Argentina to Australia, from Canada to United States, from Philippines to India, from Egypt to Turkey, from Singapore to Japan, from Libya to Nigeria, from Saudi Arabia to United Arab Emirates, and from 12 countries of old Europe.
