L'approccio sistemico ai fenomeni complessi

Abstract

La consapevolezza dei limiti, che l’interpretazione analitica dei fenomeni complessi incontra oggi, è fra i motivi che spingono a guardare, anche in medicina, con sempre maggior interesse alla Teoria Generale dei Sistemi (GST) in quanto proposta di approccio efficace alla conoscenza dei processi complessi. Un concetto fondamentale della GST è certamente quello connesso alle nozioni di apertura e di chiusura che connota due fondamentali categorie di sistemi e può valere anche per comprendere la differenza fra organizzazione sistematica e logica sistemica. L’istanza della organizzazione sistematica delle conoscenze, insieme alla pretesa di dare spiegazioni esaustive e interpretazioni immutabili dei sintomi e delle sindromi, ha talvolta creato resistenza verso le nuove concezioni sicché il discorso medico ha dovuto fare i conti, in diversi tempi e per diversi motivi, con il dogmatismo dei sistemi più accreditati . Attraverso l’esame di alcune tipologie di sistemi si intende evidenziare la necessità di distinguere tra logiche chiuse ed autoreferenziali, tendenti all’autoperpetuazione e logiche aperte e capaci di promuoverne l’innovazione adattiva e di offrire vantaggi notevoli sul piano della diagnostica e dell’intervento.
