Abstract

Le nuove tecnologie potrebbero indurre la falsa idea che il processo di apprendimento possa essere integralmente gestito dal soggetto. In questo modo istituzioni come la scuola sarebbero del tutto inutili e i soli media assolverebbero al problema della trasmissione culturale. In realtà le cose non stanno così, in quanto l'educazione formale ha ancora un suo significativo ruolo da giocare. Essa deve proporsi come un elemento del triangolo: a) processo di formazione, b) tecnologie e c) istituzioni deputate alla formazione. Il mestiere dei docenti ha oggi un senso nuovo, quello della mediazione culturale tra le tecnologie e gli utenti. Il webquest, per come noi lo concepiamo, è una metodologia didattica che fa ben comprendere il senso in cui possa avvenire questa operazione di interposizione tra tecnologie e soggetti da formare. Esso valorizza le capacità autoformative degli allievi, abilita l'uso delle tecnologie e non abdica alla funzione di guida, orientamento e valutazione del docente.
