How does judicial discipline relate to professional evaluations and other accountability mechanisms? All the Countries seem to share the same objective: to arrange a fast and efficient disciplinary system, based on transparency and due process of law, avoiding any abuse, influence, or pressure from political powers. How can this objective be reached? The article aims to address these questions, analysing some important challenges that have emerged in various countries in the last decades. The analysis is also interesting in the view of the “ratification procedure”, a peculiar procedure existing in Perù, which implies a delicate balance between judicial independence and accountability.
