Abstract

Si analizza la trattazione dedicata all'arte delle imprese nel Cannocchiale aristotelico (1670) di Emanuele Tesauro, e le riprese novecentesche nell'Isola del giorno prima di Umberto Eco. Particolare attenzione è dedicata all'impresa di Luigi XII, l'istrice coronato col motto Eminus et dominus, e alla elaborazione di una teoria generale del "parlare figurato" che trova nella metafora il proprio centro unificante, segnando un momento rilevante nella storia dell'estetica.
