Abstract

Il libro raccoglie contributi di studiosi e studiose che analizzano il modo in cui Marx e il marxismo sono stati messi all’opera da intellettuali, attivisti e attiviste ai margini dello stesso marxismo. «I difetti lampanti» (p. 50) nella comprensione dell’importanza della questione coloniale-razziale che Césaire denuncia sono variamente elaborati dagli autori e dalle autrici presi in esame, in un eterogeneo lavoro di distensione (per richiamare il celebre monito fanoniano) della teoria marxiana e di traduzione della pratica politica rivoluzionaria in diverse congiunture storiche. I contributi ricostruiti nel volume sfidano così ciò che i curatori definiscono «marxismo bianco», quell’approccio riduzionista che un certo marxismo occidentale ha avuto – e continua ad avere – nei confronti della questione coloniale, della materialità di razza e razzismo e della molteplicità delle esperienze di classe a livello globale.
