Abitare nel Mediterraneo tardoantico, III

Abstract

Il volume raccoglie gli Atti del III Convegno internazionale organizzato dal Centro Interuniversitario di Studi sull’Edilizia abitativa tardoantica nel Mediterraneo (CISEM) presso l’Università di Bologna dal 28 al 31 ottobre 2019. L’ampio titolo “Abitare nel Mediterraneo tardoantico”, già utilizzato per la seconda edizione dell’incontro di studio (Bologna 2-5 marzo 2016), è stato mantenuto al fine di costituire una vera e propria serie che si auspica possa essere arricchita dai prossimi convegni organizzati dal Centro, nell’ottica di una sempre più ampia condivisione e diffusione delle conoscenze in questo importante settore dell’archeologia tardoantica. Per offrire una panoramica dei più recenti risultati di ricerche relative a varie tipologie di abitazioni in un ampio arco cronologico (IV-VI secolo d.C.), i contributi sono presentati secondo un criterio geografico da Oriente verso Occidente: si parte quindi dalla Siria, per proseguire con Cipro, Asia Minore, Grecia, Dalmazia, Africa settentrionale e arrivare all’Italia, con Sicilia e Sardegna, e quindi spingersi nella Penisola iberica, fino alla Lusitania. Emerge un quadro assai ricco e variegato di modi e forme dell’abitare nelle diverse regioni del Mediterraneo, sulla base di un approccio il più possibile “globale” allo studio dei singoli edifici e del contesto storico-territoriale di appartenenza.
