Abstract

O presente trabalho, desenvolvido no âmbito do projecto ALFA/FARO, demonstra a utilização de técnicas de processamento digital de imagens aplicadas ao estudo de rochas ornamentais, contribuindo para o processo de classificação estética de chapas de granitos e gneisses. Buscou-se o ganho de conhecimento na construção de variogramas das componentes principais obtidas a partir de imagens dos canais do espaço de cores RGB adquiridas com a digitalização destas chapas. Obtivemos as chapas de granitos/gneisses, medindo 20cmx20cm, por processo de digitalização que posteriormente foram decompostas em três novas imagens, aplicando-se análise de componentes principais, sobre quais realizamos o cálculo dos variogramas e sua representação gráfica que se apresenta como uma proposta de assinatura digital da rocha acabada. A análise por componentes principais demonstra que é uma alternativa à redundância de informação presente no espaço RGB e ainda favorece a das tonalidades naturais das rochas. Os variogramas podem ser utilizados como uma assinatura que propicia a padronização das chapas baseada na distribuição espacial dos pigmentos da rocha, agregando novas ferramentas para a classificação estética e posterior certificação dos produtos comercializados.
