Abstract

L'introduzione presenta dati e riflessioni sulla scolarizzazione dei bambini e adolescenti rom e sinti e la ricerca-azione frutto del progetto RISE (Roma Inclusive School Experience) finanziato dal programma Rights, Equality and Citizenship dell'Unione Europea e coordinato dalla sottoscritta. Il concetto di inclusione sostenuto dal progetto presuppone che essa debba essere una disposizione rivolta a tutti: i bambini, le bambine, gli adolescenti e le adolescenti rom e sinti rappresentano, in un certo senso, l’unità di misura di una scuola accogliente. Là dove sono accolti e inclusi gli studenti e le studentesse rom, sono accolti e inclusi tutti i bambini, le bambine o preadolescenti nelle loro molteplici diversità e similitudini. Lo star bene a scuola per i bambini e le bambine rom e sinti diventa il parametro di un ambiente in grado di promuovere il benessere di un’intera collettività.
