This paper looks at the distribution of two Serbian reciprocal markers, se ‘self’ and jedan drugog ‘each other’, from the point of view of their interaction with verbal aspect. The analysis is based on the data extracted from the Corpus of Contemporary Serbian Language. The results obtained for a sample of eight verbs indicate that se is more commonly used with imperfective and jedan drugog with perfective verbs; however, the influence of verbal aspect appears to be different with some verbs. An additional factor taken into account is the number of participants in the action expressed by the verb.
